The Hike
The trail begins from the east end of the parking lot through stunning second-growth Douglas fir and western red cedar forest. Around mile 1.5, the trail begins climbing through switchbacks. The final half-mile pushes through exposed boulder fields to the rocky summit plateau.
What to Expect at the Summit
Panoramic views south toward North Bend and the Snoqualmie Valley, west toward Seattle on clear days, and directly north up to Mount Si's imposing cliff face. There's no shade at the summit, so bring sun protection.
Trail Tips
- Arrive early: Parking fills by 9am on weekends from April through October.
- Bring layers: The summit can be 10–15°F cooler than the trailhead.
- Water: No water sources on trail — bring at least 1.5 liters per person.
- Dogs: Keep them leashed — it's a heavily used trail with many families.
